The morning started off slow, and we were begining to worry there wouldn't be anyone coming out, but before we knew it there were trucks as far as the eye could see.
By 9:30 people were starting to get anxious to get going, so we started getting the ATV's lined up.
The first group of people were led by our President Theo Janssen and OFATV President Bruce Murphy. Eighty bikes led the charge in the first group.
At the half way mark, Topline Trailers & Weagant Farm Supplies sent up at Ben's Gas Station with their Kawasaki booth, and NVATVC volunteers served up a barbeque of hotdogs and hamburgers.
After lunch, everyone hit the trails again and the good times rolled. The first half of the rally had a bit of road-running, but the second half of the rally was golden.
Even Rover was out for an ATV ride, he rode the whole rally.
We had cut a trail quickly on Friday morning before the rally and unfortunately we did not have time to bridge a rather steep ditch, but we had wardens on hand to help people through.
Riders also may have discovered a little bit of mud hiding on the trails.
As the day went on, the Boundary Road trail, got muddier and muddier as all one hundred and seventy-five bikes each chewed a chunk out of it.
But half the fun of going out is to geting stuck.
Well after all that winching, pushing, and pulling through that last mudhole, it was time for a break.
Mountain Fire Department was at hand back at the Fairgrounds to wash bikes off for a donation.
Well, we could not have asked for a better turn out for our Grand Opening of the trails. I am sure that everyone who came out had a good time, and if they didn't they weren't trying hard enough! We'd like to thank everyone who came out to participate, and a special thanks to all of our sponsors without whom this would not have been possible -- and thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this rally a success.
And as a friendly parting reminder -- stay on the trails!
